A tragic incident unfolded on the Yamuna Expressway as 12 vehicles piled up, resulting in one fatality and numerous injuries. The mishap occurred due to dense fog causing low visibility. Yamuna Expressway Accident
The pile-up on the Yamuna Expressway near Dayanatpur village, Jewar police station area, claimed one life and left several injured. Noida Police officials are conducting an inquiry into the incident, and all the injured have been rushed to the local hospital for medical attention.
Delhi-NCR Visibility Crisis
Dense fog gripped Delhi-NCR, severely impacting visibility in the early hours. An orange alert was issued, urging authorities to remain prepared. The minimum temperature recorded was 7.8 degrees Celsius. This led to delays in trains, potential flight delays and cancellations, affecting travel across Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, UP, and north Rajasthan.

The Met department’s ‘yellow’ alert signifies awareness, ‘orange’ suggests preparedness, and ‘red’ calls for heightened vigil and immediate action. The visibility at Delhi’s Safdarjung and Palam weather stations was recorded at 50 meters and 125 meters, respectively.
Transportation Impact
Approximately 25 trains arriving at Delhi railway stations are running late due to fog. Flight delays and cancellations are anticipated. However, weather experts predict an improvement after 11 am.
