This time, special attention has been paid to the development of cities in the budget of Yogi Adityanath government. The government will spend more than Rs 7,000 crore in the financial year 2023-24 to further strengthen the basic facilities in the cities.
Apart from this, two and a half thousand crore rupees will be spent for Prayagraj Mahakumbh Mela-2025. At the same time, 100 crore rupees will be spent by the government for destitute animals.
In order to make the Maha Kumbh Mela, which is going to be held in 2025 in Prayagraj, the grandest event so far, the Yogi government has announced a huge package in the budget this time. Where Rs 621.55 crore was proposed in last year’s budget 2022-23 for organizing the Mahakumbh, in relation to this, the Yogi government has made an arrangement of Rs 2500 crore in the budget this time. The Yogi government has also made separate provisions in the budget for destitute animals. An arrangement of Rs 100 crore has been made in this financial year for the construction Kanha Gaushala and Destitute Animal Shelter Scheme.
Budget of more than 56 hundred crores for drinking water and sewerage
The Yogi government, which is trying to further strengthen the basic facilities in the cities, had announced a budget of Rs 2000 crore in the year 2022-23 for drinking water, sewerage and water bodies under AMRUT 2.0. But in this year’s budget, a provision of Rs 5616 crore has been made, increasing by almost 180 percent. Similarly, under Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0, a provision of Rs 2707.86 crore has been made in the budget for the year 2023-24 against Rs 1356.36 crore for toilets, solid waste management and used water management. This represents an increase of almost 100 per cent.
Rs 500 crore for city roads
The government has made a provision of Rs 500 crore for the proper development of urban roads of the Urban Development Department. On the other hand, Rs 50 crore has been announced as a grant for basic infrastructure facilities in religiously and historically important urban bodies of the state. Along with this, a provision of Rs 100 crore has been made in the budget for the aspirational civic body scheme.
