BJP Spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi Condemns SP’s Handling of the Case

Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi condemned the plot by the SP in handling the case: “Nawab Singh Yadav is not only an important SP leader but had also been discharging duties as the MP representative of Dimple Yadav. The SP, in the past, has not shown such crimes with the seriousness they deserved, as reflected in the cases involving the members of their party. Like earlier cases, the ongoing episode is yet another example of saving criminals—a trait in the character of the leaders of their party.”.

Taking a swipe at the government, former BJP MP from Kannauj Subrat Pathak, too, accused the SP of doing a systematic cover-up. Pathak claimed, “In raping a young girl for the promise of a job, the SP has only exposed its real character. This case, was allegedly an eye-opener after acts like the infamous Moid Khan case in Ayodhya time and again, revealing an ugly trend within the party: the larger the criminal, the more he is protected by the party, which should now be termed as a ‘rapist party.'”

Increased Focus on Political Affiliations and Judicial Influence

This case has put an increased focus on political affiliations and the assumed influence of party connections over judicial processes. The BJP has come to power at this junchture, and the office of the expectations and expectations of many from the ruling party is high in relative terms regarding stringent action against the accused irrespective of his political connection. The course of events is likely to have an effect that will deepen political animosities between the BJP and SP but serve as a quotient for discussions relating to the propriety of political and judicial organizations in Uttar Pradesh.
