Waris Punjab De Chief Amritpal Singh arrested in Moga

The Punjab Police arrested the Waris Punjab De Chief Amritpal Singh on Sunday morning. The police arrested Amritpal after taking him into custody from the Gurdwara in Moga. Earlier this week, his wife Kirandeep Kaur was stopped at Amritsar airport. He has been arrested under National Security Act (NSA)

Punjab Police confirms Amritpal Sigh’s arrest

The development related to Amritpal’s arrest was shared by Punjab Police via a tweet. “#AmritpalSingh arrested in Moga, Punjab. Further details will be shared by PunjabPoliceUrge citizens to maintain peace and harmony, Don’t share any fake news, always verify and share,” the Punjab Police said in a tweet.

Police said that the 29-year-old was hiding in the Moga district. “We had special inputs that Amritpal Singh was present in Rode village, he was surrounded and had no chance to escape,” said IG Punjab Police Sukhchain Singh Gill.

According to the police, after arresting him from the gurudwara, he was taken to Amritsar. After this, the police took him to Dibrugarh via a special aircraft from Bathinda Airport. Amritpal’s medical checkup has been done at Bathinda Airport itself.
