Bengal Election 2023: On Monday, West Bengal Governor CV Ananda Bose visited the home of a Trinamool Congress (TMC) worker Ziarul Molla who was shot dead in South 24 Parganas district. Governor Bose forwarded his condolences to the family of Molla and assured them that justice would be delivered.
During his visit to the family home, Bose expressed deep sadness for the happening and acknowledged work done by Ziarul Molla as a TMC worker.
“My father had lots of enemies”
Ziaula Molla’s daughter and TMC candidate from Kathalberia panchayat Manwara has alleged that her father had been receiving continuous death threats from members of his own party. Ziaula’s son Mizanur Molla stated “My father had lots of enemies. He had political enmity. He was threatened several times by another faction of the party. He used to get threat calls over the phone from different numbers. My father was a member of the TMC youth wing. They used to pressurize my father to join their faction.”
The police has launched investigation into this matter.
Governor’s visit to violence hit areas
During the period of Panchayat elections in West Bengal 10 people have so far been killed in poll related violence. On Saturday, Ziarul Molla was found with a bullet injury on his head on the side of the road at Basanti police station. Governor Bose has been visiting several violence-hit areas ahead of the upcoming polls scheduled for July 8. The visits by the Governor has been supported by the BJP but has earned rattling from TMC who claim that Bose is campaigning for BJP.
In a video shared by Raj Bhawan, Governor Ananda Bose was seen consoling Molla’s family over the phone when he was onboard a train.
