Ajit Pawar: Working President of Nationalist Congress Party(NCP) Supriya Sule has said that they will fight to rebuild the party, after Ajit Pawar’s decision to join the BJP-Shiv Sena camp in Maharashtra. Sule also stated that the unity of opposition will not be affected by this event.
“We will fight to rebuild the party. I would be happy if the rebels returned to the party. Let’s see how things unfold in the future. My relations with Ajit Dada will not change,”
Sule also went on to say that party will now work with new rejuvenation to work for upliftment of state and country. “Our credibility will only rise after this,” she added.
‘What happened is definately painful’
Reacting to her Ajit’s deaparture from the opposition camp, Sule made clear that she will always respect Ajit Pawar. She also made clear that what transpired in the meeting at Ajit Pawar’s house will remain between her and her cousin. “What happened is definitely painful. I will always have respect for Ajit Dada. He will always remain my brother,” Lok Sabha MP said.
She also attacked BJP for saying that BJP are used to calling NCP corrupt and are now welcoming leaders from the party. “How? I don’t want to comment on who will be the candidates of BJP. I will concentrate on my home rather than peeking inside others’ homes,” she added further.
‘Let the story unfold’
She also praised Sharad Pawar’s leadership skills by saying that he knows how to turn crisis into opportunity. She hailed her father’s response after the crisis unfolded and said that his response was inspiring. “Time will decide if we need to put up a huge struggle ahead of us. NCP is our family. I’ve been working in it for more than two decades. Sharad Pawar treated everyone as their child,” the Baramati MP said.
On Sunday, Ajit Pawar along with 8 NCP MLAs took oath as ministers in Maharashtra government including many Sharad Pawar loyalists like Chhagan Bhujbal and Dilip Walse Patil. “Let the story unfold. It has not even been 12 hours.”, Sule said after being asked whether disciplinary action will be taken against those members who joined the government.
She later said that the opposition meet scheduled at Bengaluru will now be more crucial and even in times of crisis her father’s credibility has remined undeterred.
