A bride and groom in Uppinangadi are facing legal troubles after receiving an odd request on their wedding card, which led to the local police filing a complaint against them. The invitation to the wedding appeared normal at first. The pair asked visitors to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the next elections as a way of showing their support for him. But this out-of-the-ordinary petition infuriated the authorities, who acted quickly.
Unconventional Wedding Wishes
The bride and groom decided to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi on their wedding invitation, going against tradition. The invitation openly declared, “This time again, making Narendra Modi the Prime Minister is a gift to the bride and groom,” urging guests to vote in his favour. India has to be safe for our future.”
Legal Ramifications
Upon seeing the odd request, the Election Code of Conduct Enforcement Monitoring Team immediately lodged a complaint against the pair. The Uppinangadi police then filed a complaint against them, alleging that they had violated election regulations. The bride and groom are now in trouble for what at first appeared to be an innocent show of support.
Similar Incident
This is not the first instance of its sort. Similarly, a Telangana father from Sangareddy district gained media attention when he encouraged guests to vote for Prime Minister Modi instead of accepting customary wedding presents. The father said, “A vote for Narendra Modi will be the best gift you can give,” by including a picture of the prime minister on the invitation. Even though he may have meant well, the gesture spurred discussion about whether it is proper to combine political endorsements with private festivities.
