Airtel 5G VS Jio 5G: The two largest telecom firms, Airtel and Reliance Jio, were the first to provide their customers with 5G network connectivity after the government made 5G network operations available. This sparked a cold war between Airtel and Reliance Jio, India’s biggest telecom firms.

Airtel 5G VS Jio 5G
In a recent ceremony, Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi officially inaugurated the 5G Network Operations across the whole nation. Following that, the rivalry between Airtel and Reliance Jio, the top 2 telecom firms in India, started.
Recently, both Airtel and Reliance Jio launched their 5G network operations. Both networks are strong in their own position in a number of ways. For many years, Airtel has offered its services to customers all over the nation. Reliance Jio, in contrast, has a strong track record of offering its services at reduced costs.
Which one to choose?
Reliance Jio and Airtel, two telecom providers, recently debuted their 5G network operations. The question of which is superior now arises. Airtel 5G or Jio 5G? On October 1, 2022, following the introduction of the 5G Network by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the telecom operator Airtel began operating its 5G network.
However, on October 5, 2022, Reliance Jio began offering 5G services in four Indian cities: Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Varanasi. Airtel has rolled out its 5G network across Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Varanasi, and Gurugram, which total of eight cities.
Speed Check
If we compare the Speed and Coverage of these two firms, Airtel and Reliance Jio, we must conclude that Reliance Jio is in a superior position to Airtel. Jio has spent around half of the total INR 88,000 crore and has 700Mhz band coverage, 3.5Ghz band capacity, and 26Ghz mmWave band internet speed. But the price is a little high.
According to an Ookla broadcast speed study, Jio 5G’s network speed is faster and has a median speed of 600Mbps. The median speed of Airtel 5G is 516Mbps. Reliance Jio and Airtel each have a median speed of over 600Mbps and 200Mbps, respectively, in Delhi.
Jio and Airtel’s 5G plans
With a starting price of INR 239, Reliance Jio will make its Jio 5G Plan available to its customers. This plan offers unlimited 5G data and up to 1 Gbps network speed. In contrast, Airtel’s 5G plans will cost the same as its 4G ones.
5G Price comparison
Users of Jio 5G will be able to get 1GB of data and Unlimited 5G bandwidth for a starting price of 239 rupees. The user’s plan will determine how much the charges increase. Airtel will charge the same rate for its 5G services as it does for its 4G offerings. The Airtel 5G network will be accessible on devices that support 4G SIM cards and 5G networks.
Airtel and Jio 5G offers
The 5G plan from Reliance Jio will be offered in both prepaid and postpaid options. For those who qualify, there is also a Jio Welcome Offer available only by invitation. If the Welcome Offer is available for you, a banner invitation will appear in your My Jio app.
Although the Premium Offer Plans for Airtel 5G has not yet been verified, they will result in cheaper costs per user. Prices for Airtel’s 5G service will be the same as those for its 4G plans, which range from 500 to 600 rupees. In the future, prices could decrease or increase.
