Apple: The iPhone 15 series and Mac models with M2 processors are now included in Apple‘s Self-Service Repair programme, which is expanding further. Many models of the MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Mac mini, Mac Pro, and Mac Studio are included in this expansion. The service has expanded to 24 more European countries, including Switzerland, Denmark, and Croatia, after previously having a restricted geographic reach. Apple’s Self-Service Repair now covers 35 products in 33 countries and 24 languages thanks to this update.
Apple expands self-service repair program
In case you are unaware, Apple introduced its self-service repair initiative in April 2022. It makes Apple repair manuals, original Apple components, and the tools required to fix Apple products accessible to people with the necessary experience fixing electronics. These are the same tools that Apple Authorised Service Providers and Apple Stores use.
Through this programme, Apple hopes to give customers more autonomy over how they use and care for their devices, removing the requirement that they always visit a service centre bearing the Apple name.
A new tool introduced
An important step towards empowering users has been taken with the release of Apple Diagnostics for Self-Service Repair. This tool gives customers the same diagnostic power as Independent Repair Providers and Apple Authorised Service Providers; it is currently accessible in the United States and will soon be available in Europe. It assists users with prior expertise in repairing electronic devices in determining the need for repairs and evaluating the functionality of the component.
