Apple Foldable iPad: According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple is working on a foldable iPad that will be available in 2024. The speculated device will most likely include a carbon fibre kickstand. Furthermore, Kuo expects that the Cupertino-based company would not introduce new iPad models in the next nine to twelve months. He goes on to say that the iPad will get a minor upgrade, with mass manufacturing beginning in the first quarter of next year.
About the release date
Kuo took to Twitter to express his feelings regarding the rumoured foldable iPad. The expert expected a broad 2024 release date, with no precise launch date. According to him, the new foldable iPad will come with a light and durable carbon fibre kickstand. Anjie Technology, a Chinese manufacturer of electronic and metal components, is said to be supplying parts for the kickstands.

Rumors of a folding iPad have circulated for years. According to recent rumours, Apple has been working on foldable OLED panels with LG Display. With foldable technology in the works, the prospect of a folding iPad debuting in 2024 appears feasible.

Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) analyst Ross Young said last year that Apple is developing 20-inch foldable displays. Young is less enthusiastic than Kuo, who expected a 2024 deadline. According to the display researcher, the foldable gadget would be available after 2025.
LG Display is said to be using ultra-thin cover
According to The Elec, the display will be 20.25 inches long and 15.3 inches wide when folded. LG Display is said to be using ultra-thin cover glass for the panel. According to an earlier prediction by Kuo, Apple is working on electronic paper display (EPD) technology for upcoming foldable smartphones. He also mentioned that this new technology has improved power-saving capabilities.
Apple Foldable iPad: Decline in iPad Shipments Predicted
Shipments of iPads are expected to decline.
Given Kuo’s estimate that Apple would not release new iPads this year, he predicts that iPad shipments in 2023 will decrease by 10-15% year on year. However, shipments will increase next year, thanks to the introduction of the new foldable iPad.
