Apple hints about AI features coming to iPhone later this year, what's exciting

Apple: It’s time for Apple to join Samsung and Google in embracing AI technologies in their most recent smartphone releases. Following the company’s financial performance, Tim Cook announced on the earnings call that he will discuss generative AI “later this year.”

It is logical to assume that the features will be unveiled at WWDC in the summer, and then they will be included in the September iPhone 16 lineup.

Apple to introduce Ai features

Cook’s comments support the viewpoints expressed by industry insiders, such as Mark Gurman of Bloomberg. According to current rumours, iOS 18 will be the “biggest” update in the history of the operating system. It is anticipated that iOS 18 will be unveiled at WWDC this summer, later this year.

Tim Cook said, “As we look ahead, we will continue to invest in these and other technologies that will shape the future. That includes artificial intelligence, where we continue to spend a tremendous amount of time and effort, and we’re excited to share the details of our ongoing work in that space later this year.”

With generative AI, Cook added, Apple has a “huge opportunity,” but he has not provided specifics at this time.

What do we expect?

Code found in iOS 17.4 indicates that AI may be used by Siri for summarization, intelligent Message answers, and AI use in other apps such as Apple Music, Pages, and Keynote. The company is reportedly not committed to any one AI model; instead, it is evaluating both internet-connected and on-device models at the moment.
