Battleground Mobile India, an online gaming app, will restart operations in India after the government lifted the ban for a three-month trial period.
BGMI Gets Green Light for Three-Month Trial
Battleground Mobile India is a property of the South Korean gaming company Krafton. Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the minister of state for electronics and information technology, announced in a tweet on Friday that BGMI has been approved for a three-month trial after meeting requirements for server locations and data security. Sean Hyunil Sohn, CEO of Krafton, Inc. India, said in a statement, “We are extremely grateful to the Indian authorities for allowing us to resume operations of Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI).”

According to him, the business believes in the ability of gaming to establish lasting relationships between players. ‘We are committed to providing our users in India and beyond with the best products and services, and we welcome the opportunity to continue our journey with you,’ Sohn added.The game was outlawed in India last year after an NGO called for its prohibition on the grounds that Krafton, a front company for Chinese corporation Tencent, had reintroduced the outlawed PUBG game there. No connection between BGMI and Tencent, according to Krafton.
