Barracuda Networks warns about a new cyberattack
Attackers can monitor victim’s activity and gather information about people and organisations as they acquire access to email boxes, potentially for use in later attacks or operations.
The cybersecurity firm Barracuda’s Threat Spotlight has issued a warning that hackers may cause security notifications to disappear from mailboxes.
Once an attacker has gained access to a victim’s email account, they can establish persistent access to the inbox by developing automated email rules.
