Ola: Ola is about to introduce a new service for its taxi customers. Ola Cabs customers will soon enjoy the convenience of making digital payments only through the Ola app, according to a social media post made by Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal. First available to users in Bengaluru, this feature will later be expanded to other parts of the nation.
A new payment feature from Ola
“You’ll be able to use UPI to pay the driver directly through the Ola app just like UPI is used daily. Driver app will show a QR if you want to scan. More than 2 million drivers on Ola will join the likes of millions of UPI merchants overnight. Going live end of next week in Bengaluru and end of December nationally,” Bhavish Aggarwal wrote on X.
Ola right now lets users pay with cash, credit or debit cards, Ola Money, Ola Money Postpaid, or using Ola Money.
Additional feature
To provide users a variety of services and conveniences, Ola has been including a variety of features in its app. The company recently teamed up with ONDC, and the two companies plan to offer meal delivery services directly through the Ola app. The relationship was started in September 2023.
Ola intends to use ONDC to leverage its taxi drivers as last-mile delivery agents for a variety of categories, such as food, clothing, and medications, as part of this cooperation. As part of this partnership, the idea of broadening the scope beyond logistics to include mobility services via ONDC is being considered.
