ChatGPT: How to make a custom GPT?
Step 1: Open the ChatGPT app and log in, or navigate to the ChatGPT website.
Step 2: Go to the top of the page and select the Create a GPT button.
Step 3: Give your custom GPT a name, a description, and instructions specific to it. Consider this to be a preamble to your prompt, similar to the instructions you’ve been able to provide ChatGPT for some time, but one that is exclusive to this custom GPT.
To preview how the AI will appear and behave, use the preview box on the right. You can give it a prompt to see how it functions, and then you can modify the settings on the left to fine-tune its operation until you’re satisfied.
Step 4: Documents and files are examples of specific data that you can add for the AI to use. After you have done so, assess once more how this affects the AI’s functioning. Once data access is granted, you might want to modify the instructions.
Step 5: It is also possible to modify the AI’s possible functions. Choose if you want deeper data analytics, Bing search engine access, or the ability to create DALL-E art. Additionally, you can choose which plugins, if any, it can use.
Step 6: To complete your new custom GPT, click the green Publish or Update button if you’re happy with how it functions. Then, along with the OpenAI GPTs and any other creations you made, your new custom GPT will be visible in the left-hand menu.
