ChatGPT vs Claude 2: According to reports, Google plans to invest up to $2 billion in Anthropic, an artificial intelligence startup. The business has committed $500 million and stated that it will contribute a further $1.5 billion to the competing OpenAI venture.
Google to invest $2 Billion in OpenAI Competitor Anthropic
Google already has a stake in Anthropic, and this new funding may help it compete more effectively with Microsoft, which is a significant supporter of OpenAI, the company that created ChatGPT.
The search engine company Google acquired a 10% share in the business in April after investing $300 million. Anthropic was one of four businesses invited to a White House meeting to talk about ethical AI research. The other businesses were Microsoft, OpenAI, and Alphabet, the parent company of Google.
Anthropic has investors outside Google, such as Zoom and Salesforce. Additionally, according to news agency Reuters, Amazon announced last month that it would invest up to $4 billion in Anthropic to compete with expanding cloud rivals on artificial intelligence.
