Grok 1.5: An enhanced version of Grok, dubbed Grok-1.5, will be made accessible to early testers and current Grok users on social media platform X in the coming days, according to Elon Musk‘s artificial intelligence business xAI, which announced its launch on Thursday. Grok 1.5: How better is it?
Compared to the previous version, Grok-1.5 can now process 128000 tokens, a 16-times increase. The model can process far lengthier documents because it can essentially offer 16 times higher short-term memory as a result.
Tokens, for those who may not know, are the smallest possible data units in LLMs. A word or a word segment can be a token in a text. Complex instructions are reportedly handled by the upgraded version of Grok as well.
The Grok-1.5 model demonstrates improved thinking, especially in problems involving coding and mathematics.
On the MATH benchmark, it performs more than twice as well as Grok-1, its predecessor.
It also demonstrates an improvement of more than ten percentage points in the HumanEval test, which measures the ability to generate programming language and solve problems.
When will it launch?
Concerning Grok-1.5’s availability, the platform says that early testers, current Grok users, and X Premium+ members will get the chance to utilise it “soon.” Musk claims that by the following week, the updated version should be accessible on X.
