Elon Musk: The self-claimed tech biz has taken to X (formerly Twitter) to criticize Microsoft Word. The billionaire claims that Microsoft Word scolds users for using a word that is not “inclusive”. Elon Musk has shared a screenshot of a Word document on X with a blue squiggly line under the word “Insane” with a suggestion to replace the word as the term implies mental health bias.

Reason For Microsoft’s Suggestion
The main reason Elon Musk witnessed such a suggestion is Microsoft Word’s inclusivity feature that aims to promote inclusivity. Some users have defended this feature of Word by saying that it allows users to be more mindful of what they are writing and their language.
Microsoft Word Inclusivity Feature
Microsoft Word allows users to turn off the feature if they wish. Users can navigate to the settings menu to disable this feature. Alongside, there is no such thing as Microsoft preventing users from typing some specific words, it just offers to suggest alternative words or warns users that they are writing a non-inclusive word.
