Elon Musk Warns Apple! Integration With OpenAI Raises Security Concerns, Recalls Scarlett Johansson Incident

Elon Musk vs Apple: Will iPhone Be Banned at Tesla & SpaceX?

Elon Musk

Billionaire Elon Musk has made a bold declaration: if the tech giant incorporates OpenAI at the operating system (OS) level, he would forbid the usage of Apple products at his enterprises. The CEO of SpaceX, Tesla, and the owner of the social networking site X, Elon Musk, voiced his worries on X, saying that its integration amounts to a “unacceptable security violation.”

Musk’s Strong Stance on Apple Devices

Musk’s statement follows Apple’s recent announcement that it will be partnering with OpenAI to bring various AI technologies to its operating systems and applications. Apple highlighted that it uses both on-device processing and cloud computing in its AI initiatives, with user privacy being its top priority. Musk, meanwhile, is still not persuaded about the security of this partnership.

Elon Musk also shared a tweet about an earlier dispute involving Scarlett Johansson and OpenAI.

Apple’s AI and Privacy Assurance

With privacy “at the core,” Apple has assured consumers that their AI features will protect user data with a combination of secure cloud computing and on-device processing. Musk is still sceptical despite these guarantees. He criticised Apple, calling it “absurd” for the business to claim to protect customer privacy and security while relying on OpenAI for AI capabilities.

Musk’s Legal Battle with OpenAI

Musk’s strong views are further complicated by the fact that they are shaped by his experience with OpenAI. In 2015, Musk and his partners established OpenAI with the goal of creating AI that will benefit all people. He did, however, file a lawsuit against OpenAI and CEO Sam Altman earlier this year, claiming that they had strayed from their initial, nonprofit goals. Musk’s opposition to OpenAI’s present direction and his resolve to provide an alternative through his own business, xAI, are highlighted by this court dispute.

The Rise of xAI

Musk’s new venture, xAI, intends to take on OpenAI head-to-head. xAI is positioned as a strong competitor in the AI space, valued at $24 billion after raising $6 billion in series B capital in its most recent fundraising round. Musk’s criticism of OpenAI’s partnership with Apple stands in stark contrast to his dedication to creating AI that is consistent with his future vision.
