Messaging app Telegram has received a new update, which introduces a number of features for users. The highlight of the update is the ability to add up to 1000 people on a video call, which is called Group Video Calls 2.0.
The Group Video Calls 2.0 feature in telegram now allows 30 people to broadcast video from both their camera and screens. The other 70 can participate in the video calling session. The limit is expected to be increased with time.
Additionally, the media player in the app will come with support to alter the playback speed and change it from 0.5x, 1.5x and 2x.
Screen sharing for one-on-one video calls has also been added along with auto-deletion of messages after a month. As always, users must ensure they are using the latest version of the app to enjoy all the new upgrades.
Telegram has introduced timestamp links, where users can press and hold on a timestamp in a message to copy the link and share the moment in another chat. Tapping on the timestamp will play the video from that point.
Also, with a swipe, users can choose to share their screen or input from their camera. There is the option of video preview to check things before going live.

The new update also bring several more features, including auto delete after one month, precision drawing, passcode animations, and password recovery and reminders.
There are also OS-specific changes like message sending animations for Android and new camera app for iOS and more.
Telegram v7.9 is available for download via the play store for Android and app storefor iOS. Android users can also directly install the app from their website.
