Facebook has launched several new features, including Diwali-themed avatars, to make Diwali celebrations more vibrant.
The new bundle of features includes ‘challenge your friends and family’ — users can share a photo or video of how they are celebrating Diwali at home with their family with the hashtag #DiwaliAtHomeChallenge.
The users can create ‘DIY’ video of how they recycle light bulbs, candleholders, diyas and lanterns, and challenge friends to share their Diwali related DIY projects by using #DIYDiwaliChallenge.
To use the feature, users would first need to create the Facebook Avatar via the Facebook app for Android and iOS > Then go to Create Post > Click Background Colour > Select the Diwali background.
Similarly, Twitter India has also launched a new Diwali special emoji that resembles a lit-up Diya kept on an extended palm. The micro-blogging company claims that with the new Diya emoji, it is encouraging its users to “make a positive change and #LightUpALife through thoughtful words and actions.”
To find all the specific Diwali content you can use the hashtags #Diwali2020 and #ShubhDiwali2020 in the search bar.
Instagram has announced the launch of a new AR effect called ‘Share Your Light’, especially for Diwali. Apart from this, it has also released multiple IGTV shows by creators like Shirley Setia, Kusha Kapila and Arjun Kanungo.
