Gmail: The blue verified checkmark for Gmail, which the tech giant Google just implemented, is meant to serve as a noticeable indicator of a trustworthy sender and provide users with an extra layer of protection against email scams. Gmail blue tick scam
Companies and organisations can use a variety of methods, including Brand Indicators for Message Identification (BIMI), Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance (DMARC), and Verified Mark Certificate (VMC), to confirm their identity on Gmail. These programmes aid in the identification of brands, the authentication of messages, reporting, and conformity. Gmail will display a blue checkmark next to a company’s name and its logo if the identity verification process for that company is successful.
However, Chris Plummer, a cybersecurity engineer, has noticed that con artists have found a way to get beyond Google’s security precautions. In order to create communications that seem to be from a reliable source, they can do this, making it challenging to identify fraudulent activities.
