AiSee: The world of assistive technology is buzzing with the release of AiSee, a wearable gadget that is revolutionary in helping the blind. Modern computer vision and artificial intelligence (AI) are used by this gadget to recognise and describe items in real-time. This technology’s main objective is to greatly increase blind people’s accessibility and independence, which will change their daily lives.
Design details
The components of AiSee include a bone-conductive speaker and a 13-megapixel camera. As audible feedback is provided via the speaker, the camera records the user’s range of vision. A smooth and simple user experience is provided by this combination. AiSee is a standalone gadget that can be used anywhere, at any time, as it does not require a smartphone to function.
What is AiSee?
AiSee is a combination of artificial intelligence and computer vision, created by academics at the National University of Singapore. It functions by capturing and converting the wearer’s field of vision into real-time object detection and text transcription using a tiny camera and AI algorithms. The user then receives this real-time feedback through a bone-conduction headset, which permits interference-free hearing of their surroundings. AiSee also comes with a “vision engine” program that searches for information like text, logos, and labels. The user can traverse their environment more easily and independently thanks to this function, which improves their awareness of their surroundings.
