Google Chrome: Google said on Tuesday that iOS and Android users would soon be able to use its URL correction recommendations function. When a URL contains a typo, the feature will automatically find it and recommend fixes. It was announced earlier this year for Chrome’s desktop version and promised for the mobile versions as well. Read on to learn more about this feature.
Google Chrome on Android and iOS will not detect URL typos
People with dyslexia or language learners in general, according to Google, will benefit from URL typo detection. If individuals accidentally type the incorrect URL, it might prevent them from landing on questionable websites when it does appear.
Google recently released a few new accessibility-focused features for Google Maps, in addition to the URL typo helper for Chrome on iOS and Android.
Google Maps new features
Google added an audio feedback function in Lens for Google Maps for users who are blind or visually impaired. Users only need to lift their phone and hit the camera symbol in the search bar to get audio feedback on nearby locations, including the name, category, and distance from the location, if their screen reader is activated. With an Android release scheduled for later this year, it is presently available on iOS.
As long as Google has data available, the internet giant is also enabling users of iOS and Android devices to request wheelchair-accessible walking routes globally.
In addition to being helpful for wheelchair users, Google claims that this function will also benefit travellers who are bringing along extra items, like strollers or bags.
