Google has been seen pushing generative AI features in its search engine and other services. The latest development is that the tech giant has decided to provide generative AI capabilities to its popular video sharing platform, YouTube. In a recently published blog post, Google has shared details about how the generative AI will enhance the YouTube’s user experience.
Comment Summary in the YouTube
The tech giant has informed that it is experimenting with an AI feature that will organize “large comment sections of the long-form videos into easily digestible themes”. The company has recognized that many of the times there are several comments on the video and users wishing to read them often get confused and find it difficult to participate and here’s the role of AI begins as it will help users to participate and understand comment conversations. In case, if creators want delete any comment regarding a specific topic. Google’s blog post also said that “Also, topics are pulled from published comments only and cannot be created from comments that are held for review, contain blocked words or are from blocked users”.
Conversational AI Tools
Another new YouTube AI feature in the pipeline is a conversational AI tool which will provide users with answers to all the questions about the video they are watching, recommendations for relevant content without interrupting video playback. The blog post stated that “For certain academic videos, the tool can aid learning journeys by providing quizzes and responses that encourage deeper understanding”.
Google has informed that these features are in the experimental stage, so they may not always get users right. Because of these limitations, the tech giant is conducting a small testing with limited availability and collecting user’s feedback.
