Google launches Apple AirTag Detection for Android devices, learn how it can alert from unidentified trackers

Apple AirTag Detection

Apple AirTag Detection: A few weeks after the company debuted the feature at Google I/O 2023, Google is now putting it out to Android devices. When they are being tracked by an unidentified Bluetooth-based tracker, users who are using latest versions of Android will get alerts. Apple’s AirTag tracker is the first device to be supported by the functionality. The search engine giant has also chosen to postpone the launch of its planned Find My Device network until Apple adds security measures to iOS to prevent tracking devices.

Apple AirTag Detection will alert you about the unidentified trackers

The developer of Android revealed on Thursday that it was introducing support for automated alerts for unidentified trackers on Android devices in a blog post. Your smartphone will inform you and display a map of the tracker’s route if it finds a nearby device that it believes is “travelling with you”. In order to locate the tracker quickly, you can also select the Play sound option.

Know about the prospective features

The protective feature Apple introduced that alerts iOS users when an AirTag that is missing its owner is following them is comparable to Android’s new tracking protection function. Your Android phone will display information about the tracker when you receive an alert about an unidentified tracker, such as the tracker’s serial number or the last four digits of the owner’s phone number.

You can disable the tracker

Your phone will also show you how to manually disable a tracker once one is found in order to stop it from tracking you. You can also manually scan your surroundings in a similar manner. This will provide a list of nearby trackers that aren’t connected to their owners’ devices. This will enable you to actively turn off any nearby trackers.
