Google: With Google’s new Photo Fact Check feature, you can now quickly spot phoney images that are going viral on social media. Furthermore, you won’t be tricked by anyone after this. It’s important to note that Google just released a tool called Fact Check Tool that allows you to verify the authenticity of any image that appears online.
Google’s New Fact Check Tool
Google has introduced a tool called “About this image,” which is now accessible to English-speaking users worldwide through Google Search.
People now have an easy way to confirm the legitimacy and provenance of photos they find online thanks to this tool.
Users of this programme will be able to fully research any photograph with the help of its metadata and history. You can use this feature by clicking on three points on a picture in a Google image search or on the search result, according to a Google blog post.
The user will be able to see with this tool when an image or similar image was first viewed by Google Search, as well as whether it has ever been published on other websites in the past. Additionally, users may see how a picture is used on other pages and the opinions of other sources, such as news and fact-checking websites, regarding it.
Will it help change society?
With more information and supporting data to help consumers assess the sources and images they come across online, Google’s New Fact Check Tool might be a game changer for the dissemination of false information online. When creating and disseminating fact-checks, it also motivates publishers and fact-checkers to uphold strict guidelines for transparency and quality.
