Elon Musk: The board of OpenAI, the firm that created ChatGPT, stated that CEO Sam Altman would be leaving his job. Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, now wants the corporation to explain this “drastic action.” Notably, OpenAI faces competition from Musk’s AI startup, xAI. The news that Sam Altman had been fired from OpenAI over the weekend caused a great deal of commotion in the IT sector.
Elon Musk wants OpenAI to disclose the reason behind firing Sam Altman
After hearing the news, a number of people have responded, including Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. Owner of X (formerly known as Twitter), Elon Musk, has now also voiced his thoughts over OpenAI’s decision. According to him, there might be anything that the public is unaware of, and the corporation ought to disclose to them the reason for Altman’s leaving.
In a Twitter response, Musk underlined the potential risks and powers of artificial intelligence (AI) and stated that the public ought to be aware of the reasons behind OpenAI’s decision to fire its own CEO.
His tweet read, “Given the risk and power of advanced AI, the public should be informed of why the board felt they had to take such drastic action.”
Growing disagreement among the company’s leadership on the risks AI poses to mankind could have been a contributing factor in Altman’s dismissal. While several other board members have urged the corporation to take further action to lessen the possible hazards, Altman has actively pursued funds to advance the technology’s development.
Sam Altman no longer OpenAI’s CEO
Sam Altman’s departure was revealed by OpenAI on Saturday in a blog post, citing his inconsistent board communications. “The board no longer has confidence in his ability to continue leading OpenAI,” said the message on the site. Following Altman’s dismissal, the company’s chief technology officer, Mira Murati, assumed the role of acting CEO.
