Kia: In the Indian market, Kia India intends to increase its production range, sales network, and supply capacity. The automaker is concentrating on lowering the quantity of its exports while also increasing production capacity at its Andhra Pradesh plant in order to improve supply to its customers.
Kia to reduce exports
From its Andhra Pradesh facility, Kia India exports automobiles. Approximately 3.4 lakh units can be produced annually by this factory. Additionally, 20% of Kia’s model lineup is exported to other markets from its facilities. In order to boost supplies for the home market, the corporation will reduce this figure by 10%.
The Korean carmaker entered the Indian market in 2019 with the Kia Seltos, and it is currently one of the major producers in the country’s passenger vehicle (PV) sector. Kia has also enhanced its strategy to hold onto its existing position in light of the industry’s intensifying rivalry among automakers.
What did the officials say?
The MD and CEO of Kia India, Tae-Jin Park, stated that, “We have an aggressive business plan for next year. We are looking to add 100 more sales outlets and enhance installed production capacity by 1 lakh units.”
By establishing a strong presence in Tier III and Tier IV cities, Kia India, which presently has 429 sales outlets in India, would increase this number. The EV9 and the updated Carnival will be introduced by the carmaker in India at some point in 2024. A larger sports utility vehicle than the new Seltos SUV is also scheduled to be unveiled.
