Apple Watch: The Apple Watch is an amazing piece of technology. But this amazing piece of technology is small enough for us to lose it from time to time. Many times, we lose it in our homes. Apple has addressed this issue in the upcoming iOS 17 update. The new feature lets you ping your Apple Watch and helps you locate it. However, this feature only works when both devices are in the vicinity of each other and connected to the same network. If you lose the watch outside your house, then you will have to use the ‘Find My’ App to locate the lost watch.
Steps to ping your Apple Watch
- Open settings on your iPhone.
- Head on to the Control Centre option.
- Under ‘More controls’ you will find ‘Ping my watch’. Tap on the ‘+= icon next to it.
- Once added, go to the control centre by swiping down from the top right corner of your iPhone.
- Tap on the ‘Find My Watch’ icon.
- Your apple, wherever it may be in the house will emit a distinctive sound.
- Locate it through the sound emitted.
Things to note
- The Apple Watch and your iPhone should be connected to the same network or should be close enough to be connected via Bluetooth.
- To use this feature, your iPhone should be running the iOS 17 Beta version. Older versions do not have this feature.
- Older versions have a similar feature, but through that, you can locate your iPhone through your Apple Watch.
