5G: For its 5G handsets, Oppo is releasing software updates that support standalone (SA) 5G networks. For a better 5G experience on Jio’s 5G (SA) network, the Chinese firm has partnered with Reliance Jio to provide high speed internet, dependability, and minimal latency. In a limited number of 8 cities, including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Varanasi, and Nathdwara, the OPPO Reno 8, Reno 8 Pro, and other devices are now able to connect to the Jio 5G network.
The software upgrade for all of Oppo’s 5G smartphones, including the Reno, F Series, and K Series, is being pushed.

The following is a list of Oppo devices that are compatible with Jio’s 5G standalone (SA) network:
- Oppo Reno 8
- Oppo Reno 8 Pro
- Oppo Reno 7
- Oppo F21 Pro 5G
- Oppo F19 Pro+
- Oppo K10
- Oppo A53s
The upgraded equipment for the SA network is now prepared to link to the active Jio 5G network. By November 2022, Oppo will start releasing updates for the remaining 5G smartphones.
“Users living in any city with a 5G-enabled network can enjoy the experience. We are constantly pushing boundaries of innovation to share an experience through our devices, which makes lives easier and more convenient. All our upcoming 5G devices will be SA and NSA compatible,” VP and R&D Head at OPPO India, Tasleem Arif, said.

Apple will make iOS 16.2 available to all customers in December
Other smartphone manufacturers, like OnePlus and Nothing Phone, have released software updates to enable 5G connectivity with Jio and Airtel 5G in addition to Oppo. The firmware update to enable Jio and Airtel 5G has been distributed by Samsung, Xiaomi, and Realme. The upgrade to enable the Jio 5G network also came for the OnePlus Nord CE 5G, Nord 5G, 10T, and other phones. On the other side, Apple has also made iOS 16.2 available to beta testers, enabling 5G networks on Jio and Airtel. In December, Apple will make iOS 16.2 available to all customers.
