Microsoft and OpenAI to build a $100 Billion AI supercomputer

Enhancing OpenAI’s artificial intelligence capabilities is the main goal of the Stargate project. Plans have already been developed by executives from both businesses for the data centre project. The supercomputer is scheduled to be financed by Microsoft, which has made over $13 billion in investments in OpenAI.
OpenAI currently uses Microsoft’s data centres to power ChatGPT, its artificial intelligence system, granting Microsoft the sole right to market OpenAI’s innovations.

Supercomputers can cost up to 100 times more than the biggest data centres already in operation. Given how far AI is going, this suggests substantial investment in the sector.

What can an AI supercomputer do?

Artificial intelligence supercomputers are capable of carrying out intricate mathematical and logical processes in a sequential manner. In addition, they can perform thousands of jobs in milliseconds by using parallel processing to run numerous workloads at once. This makes it possible for the industry to train more comprehensive, accurate models using AI supercomputers.
