Microsoft Ignite 2023: A number of new features and services for Windows PC users were unveiled by Microsoft at its annual Ignite 2023 event. Among these are improved AI capabilities, which will now be accessible on additional services including Microsoft 365, the company’s office suite. 1. Microsoft’s Custom AI Chips
With Azure Maia, a custom AI processor, and Azure Cobalt, an Arm-powered CPU, Microsoft is venturing into the customised silicon space. Designed to power Azure data centres, these chips are scheduled to launch in 2024. This is a calculated step towards reducing reliance on Nvidia and getting ready for an AI-run future.
2. Loop
Microsoft officially released Loop, a Notion-like work and collaboration software. Loop strives to enable smooth user cooperation with customizable workplaces and pages. It is a prominent rival in the productivity and collaboration market because of how much its user interface resembles Notion.
3. Personal touch to Copilot AI
Microsoft improved the interactivity of Copilot in its first upgrade since launch, especially in Teams meetings. Users can now customise Copilot’s output to their own tastes, first in Word and PowerPoint, by changing the formatting and tone.
4. Microsoft Planner
The new Microsoft Planner interface integrates planning and work management. There formerly was an independent Microsoft To Do, Planner, and Project for the Web. Following its introduction in Microsoft Teams Planner, this feature will go live on the web in the first half of 2024.
5. Decorate your background
Two AI-powered enhancements that improve webcam and audio quality are coming to Microsoft Teams. A more refined and businesslike appearance will be provided by the “decorate your background” function, which is slated to launch in early 2024 and uses generative AI effects to remove and replace background clutter during video conversations.
6. Bing Chat as Copilot
Less than a year after its debut, Microsoft is renaming its ChatGPT-like chatbot and combining it with the Bing search engine in Microsoft Edge and Windows 11. As of right now, the product’s generic name is Copilot.
7. Security Copilot
By merging its Microsoft Defender XDR technology with Sentinel security analytics, Microsoft is streamlining its security operations. The core of the integrated system is the chatbot Security Copilot, which provides users with streamlined control over a variety of security-related tasks.
8. Copilot Studio
The No-Code Platform Copilot Studio from Microsoft allows users to create and implement custom copilots and integrate ChatGPT AI chatbots. This new feature is a recent addition to the Microsoft 365 Copilot premium subscription. Enterprises may customise Microsoft 365 Copilot using Copilot Studio.
9. 3D VR meetings in Microsoft Teams
VR (3D virtual reality meetings) will soon be possible for Microsoft Teams users. To replicate an authentic in-person experience, one can alter avatars, meeting rooms, spatial audio, and audio zones.
10. Windows AI Studio
Microsoft demonstrated Windows AI Studio, which will give developers access to the models and tools of Azure AI Studio and combine services like Hugging Face. For adjusting a variety of lightweight language models, Windows AI Studio offers an interface that resembles a lesson for configuring models and organising a workspace.
