Moto E40 phone: For quite some time, the Motorola E line of smartphones has catered to the sub-Rs 10,000 market. In India, the Moto E7 Plus and the Motor E7 Power were replaced with the Moto E40, the newest smartphone in this series. In this market segment, this new smartphone introduces novel hardware and functionality. The Moto E40 comes with enough features to be the go-to low-cost option, or has Motorola simply changed its naming strategy?

Although the Moto E40 is a cheap smartphone, it has a good design. Some people might find the prominent camera hole in the top-center of the large 6.5-inch display annoying. Although the bezels are thick, given the price of this smartphone, they are acceptable. Just above the LCD in the top right corner is a little notification LED. Despite having a plastic body, the Moto E40 did not seem flimsy. The smartphone from Motorola features curved sides as well, making it simple to hold in one hand.

With Motorola’s My UX customizations, Android 11 is running on the Moto E40. The Android security patch for September was installed on my test device. Since these modifications are not extensive, this smartphone offers a nearly stock Android experience. The preinstalled Facebook and Google apps on the Moto E40 can be removed. There is no longer a Moto app, but there are still certain shortcuts in the Gesture section of the Settings app that let you manage all the Moto functions on other phones. While gesture navigation is the default on Motorola devices, it is also an option. Overall, I enjoy using the Moto E40’s nearly vanilla Android interface and the absence of annoying notification noise.
Cameras
A 48-megapixel primary camera, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a 2-megapixel macro camera are all included in the Moto E40’s triple camera configuration. The primary camera’s aperture is f/1.79, and it typically produces 12-megapixel images using pixel binning. It sports an 8-megapixel front camera for taking selfies. The camera software on this smartphone from Motorola is quite similar to what we’ve seen on earlier models, but it has less functions. You can snap portrait photos, and a Night mode is available to assist you in low-light situations.
