OpenAI: In September, OpenAI launched audio chats for Android and iOS users on ChatGPT, enabling them to have real-time interactions with the chatbot. As revealed by OpenAI co-founder Greg Brockman on X, the capability that was once exclusive to Plus and Enterprise subscribers is now progressively being made available to all free users on mobile.
OpenAI is now rolling out ChatGPT’s voice chat feature to free users
OpenAI stated that voice capability was now available for all free users of the ChatGPT app via a post on X (previously Twitter). The message further stated, “Download the app on your phone and tap the headphones icon to start a conversation.” A video of the functional feature speaking with a ChatGPT user was posted by OpenAI.
How to use the feature?
- Download and install the ChatGPT app by tapping “Get” after downloading it from the App Store.
- Create an account or sign in: Launch the app, log in with your existing account, or create a new one.
- Launch the app now, touch the three-dot symbol to access Settings, then turn on “Voice Conversations” under “New Features.”
- Start Voice Chat: Return to the main chat window and click the microphone button to begin speaking with ChatGPT.
- ChatGPT will reply to your voice inquiries and requests.
