OpenAI: ChatGPT, which has transformed the field of artificial intelligence, has brought about a new kind of issue. The company that developed this conversational AI, OpenAI, is in jeopardy of going out of business. The corporation reportedly makes minor profits despite incurring daily costs in the millions.
OpenAI might go bankrupt: Reason
Efforts have been made by OpenAI to monetize ChatGPT. For its Conversational AI, the company is offering a subscription. OpenAI is unable to make money even after commercialising ChatGPT versions 3.5 and 4, as it must spend all of its daily resources on maintenance.
Sam Altman’s company, OpenAI, according to a story in Analytics India Magazine, is in danger of going bankrupt. The research claims that OpenAI is unable to generate even a small portion of what ChatGPT spends on its upkeep. For the purpose of keeping ChatGPT operational, the corporation must pay 7 lakh dollars, or around 5.80 crore rupees, per day.
Not enough users
‘Chat-GPT’ received positive market feedback at the time of launch. Its user base initially grew significantly, but over the past few months, it has drastically decreased. The number of “Chat-GPT” users has decreased by 12% in July 2023 compared to June, according to statistics from SimilarWeb.
