Izumi Kawanishi, president of the joint venture and the head of robots at Sony said, The new company will have an advantage over Tesla in the electric vehicle (EV) battles thanks to Sony’s content, services, and entertainment technology. He declared that the joint venture will prioritise content with the goal of introducing its first automobile model to North America by 2025.

What is the motive behind this idea?

To provide customers with a top-notch entertainment experience, Sony Honda Mobility is making changes to every step of the car-building process. According to Mr Mizuno, the business sees a car as hardware “that will cater to entertainment and network we would like to offer”.

The actual “mobility” portion of the puzzle is still a challenge for Sony and Honda Mobility to overcome. The company wants to fully automate the vehicle so that the driver can enjoy watching and playing on their entertainment devices while commuting.

However, Mr Mizuno admitted that it will take time for this to be accomplished.” Autonomous driving will have to evolve considerably from the current level to get to that point, and it will take time for that to happen,” he said.
