Meta: The members of Meta Platforms’ Responsible AI team have been distributed throughout various teams inside the company, where they will persist in their efforts to mitigate the negative impacts of artificial intelligence, the company announced on Saturday. Read on to learn more.
Meta dissolves its Responsible AI team
According to the spokesperson, some RAI team members have been moved to the company’s Generative AI product division, and the majority of the team has been transferred to the AI Infrastructure team.
Established in February, the Generative AI team works on creating products that replicate the corresponding human-made versions of words and visuals. It happened as tech businesses all over the world were investing heavily in machine learning development to stay competitive in the AI race. Among the major tech firms that have been catching up since the AI boom began is Meta.
What was RAI for?
Meta established RAI to identify problems with its AI training techniques and evaluate how well the company’s models are trained using a wide enough variety of data. The programme was designed to address concerns related to moderation. The automated technologies that run Meta’s social media networks have caused problems.
Its members will still be actively involved in the development and use of responsible AI inside Meta, despite the dissolution of the responsible AI team.
