The proposal was accepted by the Altman, and he made a comeback to the AI firm on November 30. During the interview, Altman also disclosed the actual reason why he accepted the board’s proposal to be the CEO OF AI firm once again and why he was terminated from the OpenAI. Altman clearly said that he was “Hurt and angry” but finally he decided to make a comeback in the organization.
Sam Altman said that when he received the proposal to be the CEO of OpenAI once again, it “took him a while to get over the ego and emotions”. But, later, he decided to accept the proposal as he has contributed a lot for the company’s success.
Altman Tells Why He Came Back to OpenAI
“Obviously, I really loved the company and had poured my life force into this for the last four and a half years full time, but really longer than that with most of my time. And we’re making such great progress on the mission that I care so much about, the mission of safe and beneficial AGI,” Altman said in the interview.
Why Altman Was Sacked?
When Altman was asked in the interview why he was sacked from the Artificial Intelligence firm. He abstained to give the internal details of the action taken by the board members. Altman also said that he “welcomes” the unbiased and independent investigation which was led by Bret Taylor.
While talking about accepting the board’s proposal, Altman said, “It was really interesting. He also said that his immediate response was denial. It was like, “Man, I’m hurt and angry and I think this sucks”, he said.

Many of the OpenAI’s directors resisted his comeback to the AI firm. Sam Altman was again called to the position of CEO at OpenAI with a new board led by Bret Taylor.
