Samsung Galaxy S23: Samsung’s upcoming flagship phone, the Galaxy S23, has been the subject of many rumours, but now a new one from a reliable source has come out. This is according to the tech website GSM Arena. GSM Arnea says that a recent tweet from Ice Universe, a Twitter account known for leaking information, suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S23 series will be able to record 8K video at 30 frames per second.
The difference between 30fps and 24fps may not seem like much when you look at the numbers, but it’s easy to see in the video. Moreover, the source cites exclusively on the “S23,” which suggests that the upgrade will be implemented across the board. According to GSM Arena, the fact that the standard Galaxy S23 will be a very small phone makes it even more stunning than it already was.
Samsung is working with Iridium to provide satellite connectivity
In the meantime, prior rumours about the Galaxy S23 say that Samsung is apparently working with Iridium to provide satellite connectivity to the Galaxy S23 family. Iridium is a 66-strong Low Earth orbit satellite converconversation that delivers voice and data services. Through a partnership with Globalstar, Apple’s iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro have an Emergency SOS feature that works via satellite.
Samsung Galaxy S23 is expected to launch in February 2023
Over the course of the past two years, Samsung has been hard at work figuring out how to get satellite communications operating on mobile devices, specifically smartphones. The launch of the Galaxy S23 family is expected to take place in the first week of February 2023, according to GSM Arena. Other leaks and rumours say that the Galaxy S23 family would exclusively use a higher-binned version of Qualcomm’s recently released Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU.
