Samsung Galaxy S23 vs Galaxy S22: New year, new Galaxy S-series from Samsung. The all-new Galaxy S23 lineup is now official, succeeding last year’s Galaxy S22 series. Samsung updated the design of the Galaxy S23 phone by making minor changes to the camera module. The contoured housing seen on previous-generation models has vanished. However, the Galaxy S23 is not entirely different from its predecessor. It retains many of the same specifications as the vanilla S22, but some interesting tidbits emerge as we examine the spec sheets of both phones.

The Galaxy S23 is a better version of everything that made the S22 set the sales chart on fire. So if you are considering upgrading your current S22 to S23, read along to learn about all the worthy upgrades it brings to the table.
Display
The display is also similar to the previous year’s model. This means that a 6.1-inch Full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED panel with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz will still provide an excellent viewing experience. This year, Samsung increased the maximum brightness from 1,300 nits on the S22 to 1,750 nits on the vanilla model, putting it on par with its elder siblings.
Cameras
The camera on the Galaxy S23 is unchanged from that on the S22, with the same layout. You’d still get the same good point-and-shoot 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and two 10MP telephoto shooters with up to 3X optical zoom and up to 30X digital zoom as last year’s S22.
Dimensions
If you own a Galaxy S22, the Galaxy S23 should feel familiar because its design is similar to that of its predecessor. The overall footprint of both devices is only a fraction of a millimetre different in height and width: 146 x 70.6 x 7.6 mm for the S22 vs. 146.3 x 70.9 x 7.6mm for the S23. We wouldn’t recommend using your S22’s case on the S23 unless it fits perfectly.
Price comparison
The starting price of the Samsung Galaxy S23 is Rs 74,999, which is not cheap, but it is good that Samsung did not significantly increase the retail price. In comparison, the starting price for the Galaxy S22 was Rs 72,999. However, it should be noted that the Galaxy S23 8/128GB model uses a UFS 3.1 chip rather than the newer USF 4.0 solution found on other storage options.
