AnyDesk Hacked: A few days ago, remote desktop software maker, AnyDesk suffered a serious cyber attack leading to the compromise of the security of its production systems. The company announced after a follow-up audit that it was not a ransomware attack. As a precautionary measure, the company also revoked all passwords to its web portal. However, the company has not shared any information about the potential reason for the cyber attack.
AnyDesk’s Official Statement
“We have revoked all security-related certificates and systems have been remediated or replaced where necessary,” the company said in a statement. “We will be revoking the previous code signing certificate for our binaries shortly and have already started replacing it with a new one.”
Is Your Computer Affected?
While the company adopted the necessary preventive measure soon after it came to know that its systems were hacked. The firm also pointed out that there is no shred of evidence that the cyber attack affected any users of the AnyDesk.
How to Stay Safe?
- First of all, the company has suggested users change their passwords with a hard-to-crack pattern.
- Install the latest version of the AnyDesk as it comes with a new Code Signing Certificate.
- Third, as a preventive measure, you can scan any viruses and malware in your system by running a security scan on your computer. For this, you can use Windows Defender.
