SpaceX Starship launches for the third time, is the world's biggest rocket, Details

SpaceX Starship: During a critical test flight to showcase new technologies and procedures that will be essential on upcoming trips to the moon and beyond, SpaceX’s next-generation mega-rocket thundered into orbit on Thursday morning. At roughly 9:25 a.m. ET, Elon Musk‘s business launched Starship from its Starbase facility close to Boca Chica, Texas.

Following the two flight tests, which gave SpaceX important insights and resulted in major enhancements to the spacecraft and ground support systems, a series of thorough modifications preceded this test flight.

Unlike its previous attempts, which were directed more towards Hawaii, SpaceX is aiming for a splashdown in the Indian Ocean.

Last two attempts

Last April, Starship made a disastrous first flight that ended with the rocket exploding a few minutes after takeoff. The first-stage booster and upper-stage spacecraft were successfully separated during a second Starship flight in November, but the company eventually lost communication with the vehicle.
