Top 4 iPhone Hacks
Text Shortcuts
On your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, text replacement shortcuts can make typing easier and faster. The shortcut feature is activated by default on your Apple device, and the shortcut “omw” is added to change to “On my way!” as soon as you write it. When you back up your personal dictionary using iCloud, you can use text shortcuts on all of your devices. Here is how you can do it:
- Launch the Settings app.
- Click the General Tap Keyboard.
- Select Text Substitution.
- In the upper right corner, press the plus sign.
- Enter the replacement term in the term area.
- Enter the shortcut for the phrase you want to use in the Shortcut area.
- Click “Save” in the upper right corner.
Scan text with the Notes app
Information that is scanned can be converted into text, including phone numbers, flyers, and quotes from books. The text will show up in the note and be instantly recognised. If you’d like, you can change the text as well.
- Launch the Notes application.
- Make a new note or pick an already-written one.
- Toggle the Camera toolbar button.
- Choose Scan Text and move the iPhone to place the text inside the frame of the camera.
- To save it, tap Insert.
Select a large amount of text with the shift key
On an iPhone, you may select multiple items listed together by clicking the first item, holding down the Shift key, and then clicking the last item. To select all items in between, for instance, in the Messages app, click the first item while holding down the Shift key, and then click the second.
Reachability feature
Reachability on an iPhone allows you to tilt the top part of the screen down. With one hand in portrait orientation, this facilitates interaction with buttons and links.
To turn on Reachability, you can:
- Launch the Settings application.
- Choose Accessibility by scrolling down.
- In the Physical and Motor section, select Touch.
- To activate Reachability, press the button located to the right of it.
- Slide downward on the screen’s lower border.
