Truecaller: Truecaller has unveiled a new AI-powered tool to assist users in recognising and avoiding scam calls in response to the rising number of scam cases in India. The business introduced Truecaller Assistant, a new feature that screens and identifies calls using machine learning and cloud telephony. By identifying callers, customers may prevent unwanted or potentially spammy calls.
Truecaller launches new AI assistance
Cloud telephony, machine learning, and artificial intelligence (AI) are all combined in Truecaller Assistant. It is built to respond to incoming calls using natural language processing (NLP) and was created as a smart call-screening tool. Additionally, a special feature that gives users important details about the call’s purpose and the caller’s intent is a real-time transcription of the caller’s voice. This technology helps customers decide for themselves whether to answer a call or mark it as spam, saving time and adding an extra degree of security against telemarketers. This new function, according to Truecaller, is the “smartest call screening available anywhere.”
What did the company say about the move?
“Until now, Truecaller would show you who’s calling but now you can let Truecaller Assistant have a conversation with the caller on your behalf,” Rishit Jhunjhunwala, MD India at Truecaller, said in a statement.
“Users can choose from different personalised assistants with varying accents and intonation, in different styles such as professional, friendly or courteous,” the company said in a statement. It added that the ‘Truecaller Assistant’ is an innovation that “leverages machine learning and cloud telephony” to create a helpful call-screening solution. “Assistant responds quickly and understands your caller with high accuracy,” the statement read.
