Twitter: The company’s most recent initiative to increase signups for its subscription service Twitter Blue is the impending implementation of daily limits on the number of direct messages (DM) unverified accounts can send on the network.
Though the firm positioned it as a part of its efforts to “reduce spam in direct messages.”
Twitter to limit DMs
Another update to the platform has been made by Twitter Inc., and this one is focused on direct messages (DM). The business has stated that it will soon put some adjustments into effect in an effort to lessen spam in direct messages. The quantity of DMs that unverified accounts can send each day will be limited, according to the business.
The daily restrictions haven’t been made clear as of yet, but there has been a generally unfavourable response in the comments, with both verified and unverified users stating their disapproval of the decision.
What did the users have to say about the move?
The limitation of direct messages (DMs) for unverified accounts, according to some users, would probably only allow verified accounts to spam in direct messages (DMs) anyhow.
Others claimed that the change was more about Twitter attempting to get users to pay for verification in order to pay for its significant operating expenses than it was about combating spam.
