UP News: The AI ecosystem would be housed and promoted by Uttar Pradesh by creating India’s first AI city in Lucknow. An expression of interest (EoI) for proposals for the planning, construction, and management of an AI city in Lucknow has been launched by the project’s nodal agency, UP Electronics Corporation Ltd.
UP News: Uttar Pradesh to get India’s first AI city
Lucknow, the state capital, will now be developed as an AI city with approval from the Uttar Pradesh government, making it the newest IT powerhouse in the country, nicknamed the “city of nawabs”.
According to the Expression of Interest released by UP Electronic Corporation Ltd, the AI city intends to be a location where ideas bloom and the workforce of the future is developed by deploying cutting-edge technology, research institutes, and educational institutions. It is the project’s nodal organisation that extends an invitation to a real estate developer to create and run the AI city. This real estate developer plans to construct a tower with Grade A office space for corporates, startups, and incubators, as well as office infrastructure that can be installed quickly and easily.
According to reports, the project is free of all restrictions and supports land acquisition, rules, zoning, and other important clearances. The Government of India is expected to grant about 40 acres in the Nadarganj Industrial Area for the project.
As per the IT and ITeS Policy 2022, the developer will also receive financial support through a variety of financial incentives, according to the EoI document. These incentives include a one-time capital expenditure support of 25% up to 20 crore rupees for IT Parks and 100 crore rupees for IT City, as well as a 100% stamp duty exemption.

AI City needs a combination of residential complexes with accessible and luxury housing, as well as a walk-to-work model, according to UP Electronics Corporation Ltd.’s EoI. In order to improve industry-academic collaboration, a special area for elite engineering and management institutes will be provided. Moreover, internal transit systems with AI capabilities will exist.
