WhatsApp: Today, WhatsApp introduced a brand-new feature called “Channel.” The instant messaging platform’s parent firm, Meta, asserts that it would give users private access to crucial updates about people and businesses. There will now be an opportunity to gain followers who also like Instagram on WhatsApp. Users will be able to build channels with the aid of WhatsApp, and others will subscribe to them. WhatsApp has a distinct tab called Updates with the word “Status” in it. From this point, users can follow their favourite channel.
Users will be able to benefit from news or updates from various WhatsApp channels in this way. While you can already have a two-way discussion on WhatsApp, this will not be possible in a channel.
How does WhatsApp Channel work?
Using channels, administrators can broadcast one-way messages that can include text, images, videos, stickers, and polls. You are free to follow any channel of your choosing. For this, a search directory will also be made where you can get updates on your interests, favourite sports teams, and local officials.
It is entirely up to you which channel you want to watch, and your decision will remain private. Let us inform you that there are more than 2 billion WhatsApp users worldwide. Additionally, administrators will be able to choose whether or not users should be able to find their channel while searching the directory and who is allowed to follow them.
