WhatsApp: It has started testing a new feature that lets users send messages to their mobile numbers. The feature is now available to WhatsApp beta users on both iOS and Android.
WhatsApp is currently working on a lot of new updates and features that will make the app easier to use and more private. Some of these new features are “Profile photo in group chats,” “Forwarding media with the caption,” and a “blur” tool that is already built in. Even though it’s not clear when these features will be available to everyone, WhatsApp has started testing a new feature called “Messages with yourself” for both Android and iOS users. A small group of Android and iOS beta testers can use the feature now, and it will soon be available to everyone.

Users of Android and iOS will be able to send texts to their own phone number
You could always send a message to your mobile number, but there was never a chat window for that on your list of contacts. Users have even made groups with just one person in them so they can take notes or send media files. But with the new update, when you open WhatsApp chat for your number, the app will put “Message yourself” as the chat caption to draw attention to your personal chat box. Your phone number will also show up on WhatsApp’s contact list, making it easier to find.
The “Messages with yourself” feature in WhatsApp starts to be tested
According to a report by WaBetaInfo, “if you send a message to the chat using your phone number, it will always be synced with your other linked devices because it is no longer an unsupported function while using multiple devices”.” Some beta testers will see a different caption for the “chat with yourself” feature, which will draw attention to it. Over the next few days, the feature will be made available to more users. Then, in a future update of the app, WhatsApp will change the feature that lets you see your phone number in your contacts list.

At the same time, WhatsApp has begun beta testing the ability to forward media with captions. With the new update, users will be able to send photos, videos, GIFs, documents, and more with a caption. We could only forward the media and had to rewrite the text that went with it before. But soon, this will no longer be a problem. The feature is already available to WhatsApp beta testers on Android.
