Sam Altman was born on 22 April 1985 in Chicago, Illinois. He had a keen interest in computer science and programming. He took computer science education from Stanford University. During his education, he was also engaged in several entrepreneurial activities. In 2005, the AI Guru co-founded Loopt which was a location-based social media networking service company.
Professional Life Starts…
Altman joined Y Combinator as a part-time partner. Later, he was appointed as the president of Y Combinator. Altman played a significant role in framing Y Combinator’s investment strategy which helped them to achieve new endeavours that led to the launches of several startups which are now established companies like Airbnb, Reddit and Dropbox.

In 2015, Initially, Altman joined the board of OpenAI which was started as a non-profit research company initially founded by Elon Musk, Ilya Sutskever and some other major players in the tech industry. OpenAI aims to provide artificial intelligence for the well-being of humanity. Altman was appointed as CEO of OpenAI in 2019 and until now he has been leading the AI firm as the company has decided to call him back after the unjustified dismissal.
